For a relatively small island community, St. Croix supports a diverse and vibrant art scene.

In 1997, well-known gallery owner and fine artist Maria Henle of the Henle Studio Art Gallery suggested the idea of an art-opening event to be hosted jointly between the Christiansted Galleries and held on a monthly basis. Maria was an integral part of the fine artists community on St. Croix and was crucial with helping artists gain the recognition and acknowledgements of not only their efforts in creating their work, but their impact on the greater community.

Now years later with a wide array of galleries and fine jewelry stores participating, Art Thursday has grown many times over!

Take a stroll through historic Downtown Christiansted and visit the many galleries and stores that stay open late to celebrate Art Thursday. Paintings, photography, handmade jewelry, fine furniture, handcrafted woodwork and ceramics are just some of the art on display.

With a wide array of restaurants to choose from, it’s easy to make it a fun night out while enjoying a happy fusion of the arts, fine dining and culture of St. Croix.

Art Thursday takes place on the third Thursday of each month from November through May from 10am – 8pm.

Come join us and be part of the vibrant St. Croix art community.
